A 'Shopper's Club Survey' Opens the Door
For 'Pastor Paul's VIP Club'
This project was in the making for years. It started with a market survey that was taken by people while they waited in line for the Easter Holiday GiveAway in 1990. The survey asked what products were needed, at what price, how much money was available to spend, and where such items were purchased. Some items included were household supplies, housewares, paper products, personal care products, tools and hardware, toys and sporting goods, men, women and children's clothing, snack foods and condiments, books and school supplies and more. The response was remarkable. After tallying up the 1,200 survey results we decided to add the survey to the last page of the Grocery Registration Form as an ongoing survey. As of 2012 when the Pastor Paul's Mission closed its Grocery Shelf program to transition online, most of the 11,167 active households registered for groceries had completed the survey.
In January 2004 Pastor Paul's Club started accepting members. Within the next couple of years 1,500 households joined the VIP Club. The Club was an annual membership of registered households from the Grocery Shelf that paid $12 a year to join the VIP Club. The benefits for membership included the following: Picture ID's, Free Gifts, One Emergency Order, Purchase Power, and Future Retail Discounts. The total cost for membership was $12 a year. It was a Private Club for Registered Grocery Shelf Households only. Annual membership was voluntary.
In 2006, within two years, 1500 Members Joined Pastor Paul's Club

Today We Begin Again
The VIP Club was founded for two reasons; first, to provide essential non-food items and products at good prices to members of the private VIP Club; second, to bring in needed revenues for Pastor Paul's operating budget. Pictured top is the non-food items available in the beginning given for free as an incentive when members joined. Because food distribution was the first priority at that time, the VIP Club never really was promoted and developed like it was intended. We look forward to developing and promoting the VIP Club here online!
Today, our vision has expanded. It includes people with 'stuff' they want to donate! In the coming months you will see products available in the store that will be restricted for purchase for VIP Club Members. All of the products will be sold at good prices first to VIP Club members and then to the general public. We hope to connect people who want to help others with their donated 'stuff' who will become part of our community. We are also hopeful that businesses will donate VIP Club Merchandise.
VIP Club Members will be able to register and receive their club membership account number that will be used to shop at the VIP Club store. If you are registered to receive groceries your number will be the same and you will only need to update your information. The same number as the Grocery Shelf registration number will be used for the account. If you do not have that number, we can look it up in our records with some verifiable information you included when registering. The reason for keeping the original number is to have seniority in our database. Our long term relationship is important to us.
As we develop the VIP Club more information will be available. If you have immediate questions email us at pastorpaul.org (at) gmail.com.
